On Friday, 11th November, we came together as a community to show our respects during Remembrance Day. Milestone@Leigh Academy took part in a very engaging service of Remembrance at The Leigh Academy. Students from each class laid a wreath and one of our students then joined the veterans and had the opportunity to ask them some questions.
This event went very smoothly and with the respect that it deserves.
Four students from Phase 3 and 4 visited the local war memorial in Ash for a short remembrance service also attended by members of the public. The students brought a wreath of poppies to place by the memorial when prompted by the vicar. Tom read a prayer aloud, along with the vicar. After the service the students enjoyed a drink and cake in the village hall. All students were very well behaved and a credit to the school.
