On Tuesday 15th November Phase 1 held a coffee morning for families focusing on the importance of play in the development of communication. Our therapy team led the session sharing information about the different types of communication skills and how language develops. We reminisced about games we had played as children and how we felt about them. Staff and families were then put to work playing some different games – we discussed how we felt while playing and the skills we were using. We were shown some great interactive games with shaving foam and colours and how to use them to promote communication for all levels. It was a really fantastic session for everyone who attended.
