St George’s Day Parade

During Term 4, Phase 2 took part in a St George’s day workshop where the pupils made St George’s day flags.  On Friday 21st April we took 4 students to join in the parade in Gravesend with other schools.  The students walked through the town, the St George’s centre and up to the community square outside Woodville Halls.  Along the way the children waved their flags and interacted with people on stilts and a huge paper mache knight.  Once we got to the community square the students sang the National Anthem.  We also met the Mayor of Gravesham, with one student asking if he was a pirate before he came over and introduced himself.  We had members of the public come over to us and say how well that they behaved and also congratulated one of the students for their singing as they heard every word that they sang.

Some staff and students are pictured waving English flags during a St. George's Day parade.
