Emergency Heroes Week!

Students in Phase 3 recently experienced an action-packed few days learning all about the incredible people who keep our community safe and healthy. From flashing blue lights to life-saving kits, it was a week of discovery and high energy!

The week kicked off with a visit from our local Police Officers. The children learned that being a police officer is about much more than just catching “baddies”—it’s about being a helpful friend in the community. During this fantastic session, students got hands-on with history and duty by trying on various police uniforms and heavy-duty vests. Every child had the chance to sit in the driver’s seat of a real police interceptor, and the playground was filled with excitement as the children took turns activating the flashing blue lights and the (very loud!) sirens.

The following day, learning continued as we welcomed Paramedic Sam. She gave the students a fascinating “behind-the-scenes” look at the world of emergency medicine, and spoke beautifully about her role as a paramedic, helping the children understand that help is always just a phone call away. Through interactive visuals, Sam showed the different modes of transport paramedics use to reach people quickly, from standard ambulances to rapid-response vehicles. Students explored real first aid equipment, learning how different tools help Sam treat patients on the go.

A huge thank you to the local Police team and Paramedic Sam for inspiring our students who were inquiring and enthusiastic during these visits. We look forward to more opportunities to meet key contributors to our community.
