National Storytelling week is an annual, national event founded by the ‘Society for Storytelling’. It celebrates the tradition of storytelling and aims to inspire a whole new generation of storytellers. We love a good story here at Milestone and we were all excited to devote time to sharing, listening and activating stories all week long!
At Milestone Academy we celebrated National Storytelling week across all four phases and satellites, with so many engaging and exciting learning experiences taking place. Each class chose a traditional tale and spent the week reading the story and taking part in a range of immersive learning activities related to these tales.
We also had the pleasure of welcoming ‘In a nutshell’, an educational theatre company, who visited us for a full day and worked across all our pathways to share ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. The actors achieved this through sensory stories, performances and even created some alternative endings with our Waterfall students.
