European Day of Languages 2025

This image shows four children celebrating their success in a Kahoot! quiz on the topic of "European Day of Languages 2025". They are standing in front of a large screen displaying the quiz results, with usernames like "paw" and "ariana grande" and scores. The children appear excited; the boy in the center with glasses is particularly expressive, throwing his hands up. They are all wearing uniform-style clothing (shirts, ties, and blazers), suggesting a formal school environment.

On Friday, 26th September 2025, Leigh Academy Milestone proudly celebrated the European Day of Languages with the theme, ‘Languages open hearts and minds’.  This special day highlighted how languages have the power to connect us, inspire new ideas, and broaden our horizons.

As an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, we recognise the importance of celebrating linguistic and cultural diversity. Embracing multiple languages is central to nurturing globally minded learners who are open, curious, and compassionate.

Our pupils enjoyed a range of fun, inclusive, and accessible activities designed to engage all students through visual, sensory, and interactive experiences. This ensured everyone could take part and appreciate the richness of languages and cultures.

The celebration was a wonderful reminder of how languages open doors to understanding and unity within our community.

This is a picture of a colorful display board focused on global diversity and languages. The board is titled with phrases like "We are the World" and "Our students and staff Families come from all around the World." It uses various flags and country names to illustrate the different continents and regions families come from, including Asia, Africa, North America, and Europe. The center of the board features words written in what appear to be various languages, such as "Dzień dobry," "Holi," "Banjour," "Ciao," "Czesc," and "Hola," likely representing ways to say "hello" or other greetings.
This image shows a young boy participating in a cultural or language-themed snack time activity, specifically related to France. The boy is sitting at a blue table, eating bread. In front of him is a worksheet with pictures and words related to French culture and food, including: Flag, France (map), Mona Lisa, Eiffel Tower, Pain au chocolat, Cheese, Baguette, and Croissant. He has slices of bread and a small amount of crumbles on his plate, likely being used to learn about or taste the different items listed on the sheet.
